My iBook battery is eligible for recall, again!

by jinn Email

Apple is recalling 1.8 million batteries. This came soon after Dell recalled millions of their laptop batteries. Apparently the culprit is Sony, which is the laptop battery provider for Dell and Apple. So far, the exchange programme indicates only G4 iBooks and Powerbooks. And guess what - my iBook battery is eligible, again! What a way to keep getting new batteries for free. Tee hee.

Update:
The recall this round requires you to go down personally to the Apple Centres to lock in your request for the battery exchange and then wait. When the shipment arrives 4-6 weeks later, you need to go down personally again to collect your new battery. to Previously, it was done online and the battery got delivered to my house - hassle-free. There is a thread running at Mac Users Group (Singapore) Forums on this battery exchange programme.

Good on ya! Your Dell is newer than my iBook, but your battery is worse than mine already. Mine still lasts me 3-4 hours! Better take the right care for your new batt.
